WHO WE ARE

Angel Xpress (AXF) is a Mumbai-based non-profit organisation. As a volunteer-led, community-based organisation, we provide a platform to bridge the socio-economic divide in our cities. We enable educated, affluent citizens to empower students from low-income families within their neighbourhoods, with education, skilling and development.

How our Free Learning Centre model works

1

A group of citizens from a neighbourhood connect with the AXF team

We organise a meet-up and orientation session to identify the group and appoint teams for running centres to take the movement forward.

2

Set up the centre

Identify locations: The core team guides the group to identify ideal public places, like covered parks and also to coordinate with government authorities for permissions.

Get children and volunteers: It helps the group to initiate student registration and volunteer recruitment.

Implement curriculum: It also helps the group to implement the pedagogy, assessments and curriculum, and to train volunteers.

3

Work on funding and visibility

Raise funds: The team works on collaborations with donors and corporate houses for resources to operate the centre.

Create visibility: It creates visibility through the website, print and social media through planned PR activities to recruit new volunteers and supporters.

4

Run the centre

The core team mentors the centre head and helps manage volunteers, finances and logistics.

5

Sync with centrally managed activities

Regular updation: The central education team updates the curriculum and formalises the assessments. They conduct interactive volunteer sessions based on skills and personalities.

Redistribution drives: They help initiate and manage redistribution drives for clothes, footwear, toys, and others; and conduct year-round multiple exposure visits for children.

6

Expansion and sustenance

The central team is also in charge of data gathering, creating reports and planning expansion.

Widen reach: They meet corporate houses, community groups and schools to market the Angel Xpress format.

Raise funds: They reach out to CSR wings of corporate houses and funding agencies for fundraising.
