WHO WE ARE

We are a Mumbai-based Section 8, 12 A and 80 G accredited, not for profit organisation. We started as a platform for socially responsible and committed citizens of Mumbai who can spare their time and resources for the betterment of school going children from our vicinity who are first generation learners. Today, students enroll into our programs starting from Grade 2 and are tutored, mentored and guided through to Grade 12 and beyond.

AXF@ Schools

Schools can either engage with us for a limited period over weekly CAS activities, where students can contribute through weekend volunteering at our centres or by taking our children to school for pre-planned activities. Alternatively, schools can start a learning centre at school premises under their banner.

From 2013-2017, AXF has also conducted an in-school program, year on year, where teachers appointed by us conducted English classes in vernacular municipal schools. 2,500 students benefited from this program.

The AXF Youth Engagement Program

The YEP program of AXF aims to provide opportunities for students to gain 21st-century employability skills. Our students are first-generation learners and often lack role models in their lives. Hence AXF’s role becomes critical in mentoring and motivating these students to achieve their goals.

Some of the key components of our YEP program are:
Coaching for SSC & HSC board examinations
Spoken English classes
Digital Literacy
Grooming and Etiquette for corporate offices
Resume Building
Interview Skills

HOW WE WORK
1

A group of socially conscious citizens from a neighbourhood connect with the AXF team
We organise a meet-up and orientation session to identify the group and appoint teams for running centres to take the movement forward.

HOW WE WORK

2

Core team helps set up the centre
Our support team starts by guiding the group to help identity ideal public places like covered spots or parks. It guides the team on how to co-ordinate with municipal corporations and other authorities to procure permissions. Thereafter, the team helps the group to initiate registration of beneficiary children, and the recruitment of volunteers. It also guides the team on how to implement the pedagogy, including assessments and curriculum, and to train volunteers.

HOW WE WORK
3

It works on funding and visibility
The team works on collaborations and tie ups with local donors and corporate houses to ensure resources for the centre to operate. It creates visibility through website, print and social media through planned PR activities to constantly recruit new volunteers and supporters for the project.

HOW WE WORK
4

The core team helps run the centre
The core team mentors the centre head and helps in managing regular activities and resources. The activities include volunteer management, financial management and coordinating for logistics.

HOW WE WORK
5

Centrally managed activities
The central education team continuously updates the curriculum and formalises the assessment practices. They also conduct interactive sessions based on skills and personality-development for volunteers. They help initiate and manage redistribution drives for clothes, shoes, toys, and others; and conduct year-round multiple exposure visits for children.

HOW WE WORK
6

Expansion and Sustenance
They are also in charge of data gathering, creating reports and planning expansion. For that, they meet corporate houses, community groups and schools to market the Angel Xpress format. Their responsibilities include reaching out to CSR wings of corporate houses and making detailed applications to funding agencies for fund raising to meet planned expenditure.

We’re on a mission to impact 10,000 children.
