Roushan Jha replies when asked about his ambition

18-year-old Roushan Jha was born in Darbhanga in Bihar. His parents shifted to Mumbai in search of livelihood. The family has 5 members which includes the couple and three children. Roushan is the eldest son in the family. They live in a rented chawl house in Gazdhar Bandh, Santacruz (W) which is less than 100 sq.ft. and its monthly rent is INR 4,500. His father works as a private driver and his mother is a home maker. The father is the sole bread winner of the family. Roushan completed his 12 th grade in science stream with 86%. He is a student of St. Andrews College, Bandra(W). In his 10 th grade, he had scored 88% and has been an academically bright student at AXF. Additionally, he excels in sports and trains himself to be a runner.

Roushan Jha joined AXF in 2013 and has been with AXF since then. He was an academically bright student and displayed interest towards his studies. His basic understanding in English and Math was developed during his initial years with AXF. When AXF began its intervention online mode of teaching due to the Covid 19 pandemic, Roushan Jha enrolled for the HSC classes and regularly attended the classes. Strong mentorship, support, guidance from the volunteers helped Roushan to pave a bright future for himself. Russian is a very dedicated and a sincere student and this has kept them motivated to study hard and walk towards his goals.

The pandemic had a devastating effect on the family as his father lost his job due to the COVID 19 crisis. During pandemic Roushan’s father used to take up odd jobs to manage the families’ expenses which has been very minimal. Currently he is working as valet parking driver in a bar. Grocery support from AXF was a great relief in their difficult times. Roushan has taken effective leadership in disseminating the relief work to the students and ensures to follow the COVID 19 protocols. Roushan aspires to become a computer engineer and cleared his JEE mains with 95 percentiles. He ranked 45402 in JEE mains and appeared for JEE advance. In MHCET, he scored 98 percentiles in PCM and scored 2333 ranking
and hoping to get admission in reputed institution.
He is extremely fond of exploring aerospace and dreams of working with NASA and ISRO. Over the last year, he has been a regular and an attentive student and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors.
